Understand your bill first

Your electricity bill is made up of a daily standing charge and a unit rate for each kilowatt-hour (kWh) you use. You can't change the standing charge by using less, but you can reduce the number of units. Check your latest bill or supplier app to see your unit rate and how much you use per day – that's the number to bring down.
